Winter has arrived. The snow layered on branches and sparkling in the sun - it's so inspiring! Take time out and come to the shop for a class. The upstairs is warm and cozy. Bring a friend and make new ones. At classes and events everyone has a good time.


 

20% discount on all supplies needed for a class( fabric, patterns, books, tools, etc.)

Registering in advance helps us make sure there will be books, patterns, and tools available for each student.

 


B.S.S.?

We ask that you bring Basic Sewing Supplies to all classes unless otherwise specified.

BSS-Basic Sewing Supplies:  Sewing machine in good working order (bring sewing machine manual), extra wound bobbins, scissors, rulers, rotary cutter, seam ripper, pins, needles (including a spare for your sewing machine), marking pencil, thimble and a smile. Chocolate will be provided.  We will not always use everything but this is a good supply list for most classes.

If there are special tools, we will specify in the supply list

20% off books and patterns for classes.

Please sign up a minimum of ten days in advance to make sure your book or pattern is reserved for you.  Classes with no sign ups will be cancelled three days in advance.

Thursday, January 19, Strip Tubing

Saturday, January 21, Beginning Quilting

We will use Alex Anderson's book Start Quilting and make a rail fence quilt. The class will meet 4 times so we can work through the whole quilt process from fabric selection to the top complete and ready to quilt. The other class dates are: February 4, February 18, March 3, and March 17th is a show and tell; also it is National Quilt Day stop in so everyone can admire your quilt. Check Out Our Clubs


Groovy Girls meets the second Thursday at 6:30 PM and the second Saturday at 11:00 AM.The second pattern will be making decorative accessories for your home.No more hints.The patterns for this club always make great gifts.We have a lovely time sharing the patterns, tips, demos and techniques.Also, some delicious recipes to share.The club is $5 each meeting.No need to bring machines and supplies.We don’t sew that day.But we are going to offer the option of staying and making the Groovy Girls pattern in the afternoon.

Paper Piecing Club meets on First and Third Tuesdays at 6:30 PM. This is an ongoing club (no dues) that always welcomes new people, beginners or experienced, to join us..

Block Swappers has started.Nana’s Bowties is the new pattern and 30’s fabrics are the focus. You are welcome to join at any time.You will just have fewer blocks.You make 12 blocks each month, turn them in at the shop, and we’ll give you 12 different blocks back to use in a quilt of your own.

Miniature Quilt Club meets on the third Thursday at 6:30 PM


Mystery Quilt Club will be starting in December.The quilt is called “Quilter’s Romance” and is in two wonderful sizes for you to choose from – Lap or Queen.With just three fabrics, “Quilter’s Romance” is simply sophisticated and keep you in suspense for the entire 8 months.Designed for ease of construction it will easily satisfy the experienced beginner to the advanced quilter.Choose your fabrics making one of the two versions Candlelight Romance for a light background and Seaside Romance for a dark background.Check with us at CHQ for more details.

Kid’s Club

Friday, January 27 at 4:00 PM We’ll make a Snowman. Our young sewers have been asking to build one and we've been listening. There is a $2 fee that includes all instruction and the kit to make the project.Call for more info. Pre-registration would be appreciated so we will know how many kits to make.

Sundays 1-4

There will be a Sit and Sew every Sunday. Some days we will have a project that you may choose to participate in. These projects will include mug rugs, an iron cozy and a pattern named Table Talk that has 3 different projects to do.There is no charge for coming other than patterns if needed and fabric.Everything else including the expertise to help you learn a new technique or just make a quick make and take is free.

On the Sundays following Groovy Girls, we will be helping anyone who wants with the Groovy Girls project of the month or the featured pattern from Terri Atkinson.
